CHAMBER MUSIC WORKS
DUOS

4 duos for 2 violins
A composition inspired by sea related Greek folk songs:
I. Η τράτα μας η κουρελού (‘Our tattered trawl’)
II. Γιω Μαργιώ (‘Yo Maryo’)
III. Νανούρισμα (‘Lullaby’)
IV. Κάτω στο γυαλό (‘Down by the seashore’)
Recording by Sam Panner and Weronika Weiss.

4 little pieces for Piano and Violin
These 4 little pieces were composed through old schemes that I did back in 2018, in Nicosia. I retook the cycle when I started my studies in Amsterdam and I finished composing them on November 2021. I dedicated them to this wonderful portuguese violinist Francisca Portugal.

Theme, Variations & Postlude
“(…) King David being a shepherd himself (pan flute), who eventually ends up leading a whole nation, always with the presence of God’s hand (organ). (…)”
The piece has been performed in Orgelpark: on the pan flute is Cristina Petcu and on the organ Nicholas Papadimitriou.
TRIOS

3 Pieces for Piano, Clarinet & Viola
These three little pieces were commissioned by the “Giorkin Project”.
“Sitting in the docks from day till’ night, watching the birds fly in circular movements under the scant rays of sunshine, gazing into the night lamps’ reflection over the mesmerising canals, that’s what this composition is about.”
Piano: Phaedra Mylona
Clarinet: Nicola Janjic
Viola: Marilia Andreou

SOLO WORKS
PIANO WORKS

Mandra
Mandra is a piece composed at the start of 2023 and dedicated to my dear
friend Youngjae Kim. The term ”Mandra” refers to the Cypriot traditional dance, which is the closing of the series of 5 main male dances danced by a couple facing each other. . Major influences include: Béla Bartók and György Ligeti and the arrangement of the homonym song by the Cypriot band named ”Monsieur Doumani”.

Preludes:
I. Reminiscence
II. Sunflower Field
Two early preludes composed in 2020, written in an impressionistic style.

Bipolar Chrysanthemum
Small piece of music dedicated to Elizabeth Goh; it explores multiple characters in a chord progression.
SOLO WORKS
Mandra
Mandra is a piece composed at the start of 2023 and dedicated to my dear
friend Youngjae Kim. The term ”Mandra” refers to the Cypriot traditional
dance, which is the closing of the series of 5 main male dances danced by a
couple facing each other. This particular dance does not have strong dance
moves but it’s based on the steps of the second and third dances, called
”kartchilamas”. A major influence on the composing of this piece, has been the treatment
of piano pieces by the composers Béla Bartók and György Ligeti and the
arrangement of the homonym song by the Cypriot band named ”Monsieur
Doumani”.

In memoriam
After the death of the greek composer Mikis Theodorakis (1925-2021), I composed this solo violin work. It is based on three works of his: “της δικαιοσύνης ήλιε νοητέ” (tis dikeosinis ilie noite’) , “ένα το χελιδόνι” (ena to helidoni) and the famous Zorbas.
